Upper West Side
A New Chapter for a 1921 Upper West Side Co-op
Built in 1921, this sprawling pre-war co-op epitomizes Upper West Side charm. So much so, in fact, that the space we renovated served as a film set for a John Turturro film during our redesign. With only two apartments per floor, the building offers exceptional privacy and ample light, thanks to the adjacent corner church below.
Our task was to completely reimagine the space for a young family of four, giving it a strong layout and contemporary vibe. Narrow hallways and a small kitchen were expanded and realigned to create more functional and inviting spaces. The family room became the cozy heart of the project, featuring a hearth-like centerpiece with a large TV that can be hidden behind sliding mirrors.
Throughout the renovation, we infused artistic details to complement the family’s spirit and burgeoning art collection. This transformation has turned a classic pre-war space into a modern, livable home, perfectly suited for its new family.
